Review TerraBlock Version 5 Requirements Before Downloading
Version 5.x of Facilis TerraBlock includes the option for Multi-user Write volumes through the Facilis Shared File System (Shared FS). Version 5.x can be installed
without a Shared FS license, and Single-user Write (volume-level) sharing is maintained. To enable Shared FS and upgrade to verson 5, see the following requirements.
Requirements prior to enabling version 5 and/or Facilis Shared File System:
Version 4.6 and higher requires a memory upgrade to function in any server shipped prior to 06/2009. The 4GB RAM upgrade must be installed in 24EX, 12D
and 24D TerraBlock servers. When Shared File System license is requested and approved, a RAM upgrade will be shipped to you free of charge on your UPS or FedEx account
number. If only a version 5 license is requested, the customer must purchase the upgrade to 4GB seperately.
Shared FS Licensing policies are as follows, determined by the ship date of the original server chassis.
- New and existing systems purchased after January 1st, 2010 will have the option of adding an unlimited-term Shared FS license at time of purchase, or at any
time after purchase.
- Existing systems purchased between June 1st 2009 and December 31st, 2009 will be granted an unlimited-term license at no cost and at any time when covered by
a current support contract.
- Existing systems purchased prior to June 1st 2009 have the option of purchasing an unlimited-term add-on license at any time when covered by a current
support contract. The 4GB RAM upgrade must be added.
Request a License
To request a license, or to find out if your TerraBlock is covered under a current support contract, send an Email to license@facilis.com. Include:
- Your TerraBlock serial number (a silver or black tag on the back or side of the unit)
- Your company name and contact information
- The "TBLicenseData" file in C:/Program Files/Facilis/TerraBlock as an attachment
- The completed FacilisLicenseRequest form as an attachment (Shared FS license only). See below for link
If you have a current contract, you will receive a new license file for version 5.x software. Please allow up to 24 hours to receive your license file for requests sent
during weekday business hours. License requests for Shared FS will be reviewed and the sender will be contacted by Facilis Sales.
Do not upgrade without obtaining a license file or without the proper hardware requirements. If you have more than one TerraBlock unit, you must upgrade all units to 5.x. A
mix of TerraBlock software versions is not supported on the same network. It is not required that all servers in a network have a license for Facilis Shared File System. Any
server not licensed will allow only Single-user Write (volume-level) sharing.
