Facilis HUB with the Facilis Shared File System has advanced features for managing client access to storage volumes. An administrator can push and pull storage to the desktops of the client workstations from anywhere, with the push of a button. Critical files can be secured while production is underway, without errors when saving projects or replacing files from applications. Avoid the latency of VPN. Avoid the cost and complexity of cloud. Access Facilis HUB storage from remote desktops directly, with the same interface and client controls as on-prem workstations. Facilis WANLink is the perfect hybrid on-prem/off-prem workflow tool. All user accounts and access control persist regardless of the location of the remote workstation. With FastCache, every bit of data read from the server is cached locally to fast NVMe, turning slow connections into 4K compatible locations with no change in the editor’s process. PreLoad project data to have everything real time from the start, or cache on the fly to overcome dropped frames. Cache drives are non-volatile and cross-platform.
8K Performance and Multi-socket Ethernet
In version 8.4, additional advancements in connectivity, throughput and aggregation have been added. These features enhance the normal wired Ethernet connectivity efficiency and deliver substantially greater speeds to the desktop than standard NAS. Facilis Multi-socket takes 10Gb and 25Gb workstation connectivity to full saturation on a single port of connectivity, with no changes to switch or network card settings. Mac, Windows and Linux workstations can achieve near full theoretical bandwidth of 10Gb on most servers, with none of the spikes and drops often experienced with SMB shares. The fact that Facilis customers can take advantage of this advancement with a simple software update shows the power of the Facilis Shared File System design.
Affordable Support and Long Term Ownership
Facilis has always had our customer’s interests in mind when pricing software and hardware support options, and they remain the most affordable in the business. Hardware warranty is optional, and software assurance is a minimal fee on a per-server basis that doesn’t affect the operation of the server upon expiration. Also, there are no retroactive fees or reinstatement fees for any HUB server warranty or support option. Hardware warranty is advance replacement, shipping from US-based or spares depots in multiple countries. Our servers are built for a 7-10 year lifespan, and even servers over 10 years old can upgrade to the latest OS and Facilis software versions.
