Facilis Technology Version 8.4 Delivers Acceleration, Security and Protection at IBC Amsterdam 2026

New levels of Ethernet performance, enhanced security through cloud-based directory services and lock-down for critical data.

Hudson, MA — September 2026 — Facilis Technology will showcase major advancements to its shared storage and media asset management platform at IBC Amsterdam 2026, highlighting HUB 8.4 for the first time, and FastTracker 3.8.6. Attendees are invited to visit Stand #7.A55 at the RAI Amsterdam from September 11–14 to see these innovations in action.

New Ethernet Technology

Using the Shared File System software client in version 8.4, Facilis delivers boosted performance across any infrastructure with new Multi-Socket and Multi-Link technology. Facilis Multi-socket takes 10Gb and 25Gb workstation connectivity to full saturation on a single port, with no changes to switch or network card settings. Mac, Windows and Linux workstations can achieve nearly full theoretical bandwidth of 10Gb on most servers, with none of the spikes and drops often experienced with SMB shares.

Facilis Multi-link feature combines two ports of connectivity into a single pipe without any teaming or LACP configuration required. Instead of restructuring client connectivity with more expensive switch hardware, many customers will enjoy up to double the bandwidth simply by adding a second Ethernet link to the switch or server.

Security and Protection

Version 8.4 also introduces OAuth support for SSO through IAM providers like Entra ID, Okta, and Ping. This ensures that user accounts can be validated anywhere, with multi-factor authentication and conditional access to Facilis shared storage resources. For additional security on the server itself, Facilis introduces “Lockdown mode”; a method of obscuring file systems from the server OS to avoid any infiltration gaining access to important data in use on the client desktops. Combining Lockdown Mode with client-side write and delete restriction policies through Smart Access Rules secures your important data from external threats.

With Version 8.4 Alias volumes, project folders can be exposed as individual volumes at the client desktop, and the target path of these volumes can be changed by the administrator any time. Permissions and access control follows the Alias volume, so the data is always available and protected.

FastTracker 3.8.6: Smarter, Faster, and AI-Driven

FastTracker 3.8.6 introduces a redesigned, customizable interface with optimized layouts for logging, metadata tagging, and media review. Scalable thumbnails and an enhanced player window provide crisp visibility for high-quality source and proxy footage.

Version 3.8.6 includes an integrated FastTracker panel directly within Avid Media Composer, joining existing support for Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve. Editors can search the entire database of storage assets directly inside their Avid project and seamlessly import media as linked or transcoded assets into Avid bins.

FastTracker also integrates with Google’s AI platform, enabling automated tagging of objects, logos, text, signage, and spoken word across hundreds of languages—acting as a centralized hub for discovery across distributed teams.

“As content creation demands evolve, media workflows are reaching a crucial turning point,” said Jim McKenna of Facilis Technology. “Security, speed, and seamless accessibility are no longer exclusive features. We’re excited to show teams how they can protect their valuable assets while keeping creative productivity at its peak.”

Thunderbolt 5 Performance with ATTO Technology

In partnership with ATTO Technology, Facilis is supporting next-generation Thunderbolt 5 adapters for high-speed media transfers. The ATTO ThunderLink TLFC-5642 (64Gb Fibre Channel) and ThunderLink NS 5102 (100Gb Ethernet) deliver exceptional throughput for demanding uncompressed 8K workflows when paired with the Facilis shared file system.

“Modern media creation demands unprecedented speed and flexibility,” said Shane Rodbourn, CEO of Facilis Technology. “Through strategic partner integrations and cutting-edge R&D, we are delivering the robust, high-performance infrastructure the industry needs to create without limits.”
